Pastor’s Update

Dear Parish Family,

As you read this email, I am most likely with Fr. Yves in Oak Island for the Archdiocesan study days. I should have brought a metal detector and a shovel! I have three main updates for you:

Firstly, Alex Stapleton is stepping down from his position as Communications coordinator at Holy Trinity parish.  This is to provide him with more time to dedicate to keeping the growing youth group running well and effectively. Even with his short time in holding the communications position, he has done a lot, including updating and refreshing the website, a new format for the HTP Connection among other important upgrades. Please keep Alex in your prayers as he assists us in the hiring process for a new communications coordinator. If all goes well, maybe we will have a new person in place by the beginning of December. Alex’s help with communications will be missed, but his efforts and leadership with the youth group will be very appreciated.

Secondly, Joane Albrecht has been hired as our new Grow Together Coordinator, in place of Kate Pinto, who is presently holding down the Evangelize Coordinator role. Joanne will begin work initially on Thursdays and Fridays, beginning on November 7. Please pray for her as she takes on this important work at our parish. Part of our parish vision is to be ‘strengthened in community’, and so Joanne’s role is necessary in organizing us, over time, into small groups in order for us to find support from each other in meaningful ways between our larger Sunday gatherings for Mass.

Finally, I had the joy of a milestone birthday last week. I turned fifty on October 22. In order to have a chance to celebrate in person with my family, I will be going to Kitchener from Sunday evening, November 3 until Thursday evening, November 7.

I hear the Autumn colors are beautiful at this time. God is a marvelous artist. As we move into November, I pray that the feast of all Saints, and the Commemoration of all Souls will get us off to a prayerful and meaningful beginning to these final few weeks of the liturgical year.

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Tim
