The sacraments are at the heart of our Catholic faith. They are intimate encounters with Christ, not drive-through transactions or something to check off. We are happy to help your family grow deeper with the sacraments at our parish! The Sacraments are visible and tangible signs of God’s love for His people that enliven the faith of those who receive them and the faith of the community that bears witness. Additionally, because the sacraments have a unique connection with God and the community, candidates for receiving these sacraments must have participated in age-appropriate faith formation programming for at least one year immediately prior to applying for sacramental preparation.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is a significant step in the growth and development of every Catholic, necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. At Confirmation, we affirm our commitment to God and the Church and receive a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The grace of this sacrament deepens our faith, and brings us into a more abundant life with Christ and strengthens us to share the love of Jesus Christ with others.
Youth in Grades 9 or 10 may request youth preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Registration is required to participate in this program, and a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate will be required at the time of registration. Persons aged 17 and up and wishing to prepare for and receive the sacraments are candidates for our parish’s Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) program and should contact the parish office at office@holytrinityns.ca for more information.
