| Mission Accomplished; New mission beginning Dear Parish Family, As you may or may not be aware, our parish has had two Crisis Emergency Shelters on our parish property to assist those living unhoused in our area as they transition to other housing arrangements. For roughly five years, we have provided very important help to a handful of people in great need. At present, the demand for our shelters has diminished as other services and agencies are filling this need in a way that did not exist when we first started in 2020. It is notable that the baseball field and the First Lake area no longer have people living in tents. So, for us, let us praise God for having had the opportunity to practically help our brothers and sisters in Christ: Mission accomplished. The two shelters are going to be removed from our property in the very near future, refurbished, and relocated to a new site. Now a new mission has begun. The need for affordable rental is the next step. I am presently meeting with other Christian leaders and pastors in the Sackville area to make some concrete plans for providing such housing. I will keep you posted as financial, volunteer, or other needs arise. For now, Holy Trinity Parish will continue to partner with Beacon House as they provide critical shelter for those living unhoused. Special thanks to all who made the Emergency Shelters on our property such a success, especially George, Pat, Ralph, and Marilyn, from our St. Vincent De Paul chapter, and the Knights of Columbus, who made a path for the shelters, Mario and to all who donated gifts, cards, money, quilts, picnic tables, storage cabinets, supplies when they moved, etc. The seven residents of our Shelters: Patricia, Ken, Michael, James, Brian, Jonathon, and Ray, were all very grateful for the shelters and all the donations. As this mission comes to a close, we pray for successful efforts towards the next step of affordable rental housing. In Christ, Fr. Tim |

| Funding the Vision: Become a Mission Partner Our parish is growing, and we’re exploring ways to support that growth through enhanced programs, updated spaces, and stronger leadership development. To move forward, we need a stable financial foundation. We invite one person from each household to complete a simple, anonymous commitment form (found here). This helps us understand what’s possible as a parish, with no follow-up or pressure involved. Thank you for your continued support of our community. First Communion Masses Sunday, May 3, @ 9 am and 11:15 am Masses! On Sunday, May 3, at both the 9 am and 11:15 am Masses, we will celebrate the First Communion of 25 young Catholics! We look forward to welcoming them, their families, and guests as we bring these young people to the Lord’s table for the first time. To accommodate these First Communion families, several pews in the center section will be reserved for the youth, their families, and guests. All are welcome to attend the Mass as usual and to join in this momentous step in their relationship with the Lord. Please be aware that the church may feel a little fuller than usual! Coffee and Conversation A big thank you to all who came out for Coffee and Conversation last week. And a special thank you to all who contributed, helped with setup, cleanup, etc. Mark your calendars now for Tuesday, May 12, for our next gathering in Seton Hall. For those interested in helping organize these fellowship gatherings, there will be a meeting in Room 9 on Thursday, April 30, at 9:45 am. Our goal is to be able to have Coffee and Conversation more frequently. Many hands make light work! The Companions of the Cross invite you to Adopt a Priest! Adopt a Priest supports a vibrant, life-giving priesthood by forming priests into strong, dynamic leaders. Through ongoing leadership training and spiritual formation, we help priests grow so the Church can come fully alive. This mission depends on continued development and faithful support. By committing to spiritual adoption—praying daily for your CC priest—and financial support of $30 monthly or $360 annually, you invest directly in the Companions Clergy Leadership Development Fund, which sustains the ongoing formation of all CC priests. One way to support life is by visiting and encouraging the elderly and infirm. To do so, you can directly contact your local care home facilities, visit loved ones and friends, or contact our Care and Companionship Ministry at Holy Trinity Parish to get involved with visits to the sick and homebound by emailing care-companionship@holytrinityns.ca or calling the parish office to inquire. Also, as a parish, we want to ensure you’re informed and equipped to respond thoughtfully and in support of life. The Christian Medical and Dental Association of Canada (CMDA) has prepared helpful resources that explain the issue and outline ways you can engage. If you feel called to take action, you can also use their tools to easily contact your elected officials and express your concerns about MAID. Upcoming CWL Fund-Raising Event The Parish CWL will be selling tickets on a Gift Card Wreath valued at over $250 beginning April 22 and continuing until it is drawn for on June 16. All proceeds will go to support CWL initiatives undertaken throughout the year. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and may be obtained from any CWL member.
