IGNITE is our family program that brings together children, their parents, even grandparents in a supportive atmosphere of sharing faith relevant to families today. Ignite explores and explains the main truths of our faith through an exciting program of experiences, discussions, games, music, drama, and art. In working together, IGNITE recognizes that people of all ages have something valuable to share.

For families with children in Grades 1-5, (although younger and older siblings are welcome). Participation in the IGNITE program is also a prerequisite for the Sacramental Programs – ie First Reconciliation and First Communion.

Sessions are held every 2 weeks on Sundays (11:30-12:30) or Monday evenings (6:30-7:30) and for the Fall of 2020 they will take place over Zoom.

Sacraments

Our Parish is excited to celebrate the Sacraments with the youth of our community! These visible and tangible signs of God’s love for His people enliven the faith of those who receive them and the faith of the community who bears witness. We are happy to offer the youth of our parish preparation for the following sacraments:

Youth aged 7 and up (Grade 2+) may request preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion.

Youth aged 13 and up (Grade 9+) may request preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Persons aged 17 and up and wishing to prepare for and receive the sacraments are candidates for our parish’s Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) program and should contact the parish office for more information.

Additionally, because the sacraments have a unique connection with God and the community, candidates for receiving these sacraments must have participated in age-appropriate faith formation programming for at least one year immediately prior applying for sacramental preparation.

If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Alex at faithformation@holytrinityns.ca.
