Here in the maritimes, people go to the grocery stores three days before a storm to get their storm chips. That’s the most important thing.
Unlike a storm or hurricane, it’s not really possible to over-prepare for Jesus. There’s actually no bottom to the depths of our relationship with God. And so our preparation during Advent involves us thinking about, praying about, meditating on, our own call to follow Jesus. Are we as all in as we once were? Have we made that choice consciously to follow Jesus? And are we renewing it? Do our lives reflect that?
It’s good to think about these things, and prepare ourselves to say yes to Jesus in a deeper way, in a stronger way, in a more convicted way. To make that choice or renew that choice.
