It’s been a while since we provided an update on our various parish properties. We recognize that the closure and sale of church properties remains painful for many in our community. We pray that we can continue to move forward together, doing our best to be connected, supporting one another, inspired by our mission to make and equip disciples who joyfully go and invite others to Jesus and living out our vision to be explosively alive in the Holy Spirit, strengthened in community and transforming the world for Jesus. Please see continue reading for the latest information.
Saint Francis of Assisi Church Property
This property will go on the market for sale in the next week (July, 2022).
- Why not before now? The necessary step of Archdiocesan approval to sell this property was recently secured.
- What will be done with the proceeds from the sale of this property? The funds will be kept on deposit with the Archdiocese for future use on larger capital repairs if required, or possibly towards a new church. Interest from that deposit would be added to our operational income.
Property in Middle Sackville
The Archdiocese has asked us to hold onto this property as the value will appreciate. A future sale might be used to fund a new church building if required.
Property on Beaver Bank Road and Wingate
Plans for the sale of this property are progressing well and we should have a further update on this soon!
Saint Elizabeth Seton Church Property
Has been functioning as a warming centre (now referred to as Sackville Area Warming Centre or SAWC) since February. They have an active Facebook page so please check it out for further information.
Saint John Vianney Church
St. John Vianney Church has become our Holy Trinity parish home.
Further updates will be added when they become available.
More information on parish finances can be found here on our Give page, or here when we gave an update in May, 2022. Thanks to our Finance Council and other parish leadership for the important work they are doing with regards to parish resources.
