Fr. Michael Horianopoulos, CC

Fr. Michael Horianopoulos was born on the opposite coast of Canada in the small town of Kitimat, British Columbia. He has fond memories of going to mass with his younger sister and brother, mom, and maternal Portuguese grandparents, then having lunch together each Sunday. His dad’s side of the family is Greek Orthodox, so he has a great love for the eastern churches as well (and Greek food of course!) Fr. Michael attended the University of Northern British Columbia for six years, completing undergraduate degrees in both Biology and Elementary Education. After this, he taught the second grade at Sacred Heart Elementary School for two years. During the first year of teaching, he felt Jesus calling him to the priesthood, and discerned joining the Companions of the Cross after spending a very joyful year with other young adults at St. Therese School of Faith and Mission in Bruno, Saskatchewan. He was ordained to the priesthood in May 2025 and is glad to be working with Fr. Tim and joining Holy Trinity Parish as his first priestly placement.

Fr. Michael is grateful for the adventure God has led him on so far in becoming a priest, and has expectant hope for a fruitful and exciting years of priesthood ahead!
