HTP Connection November 14, 2025

Welcome to the HTP Connection for Holy Trinity Parish, our Weekly News Bulletin. Arriving in your email inbox every Thursday morning, it will be your connection to important events and information from HTP!

Q3 Financial Report
The Finance Council has published our parish’s third-quarter financial update, which can be found here. For the period January 1 to September 30, 2025, we had to remediate a number of building issues, resulting in higher-than-expected expenses. Our Building, Properties & Real Estate Committee will report on these in the next few weeks. Additionally, our revenue is slightly behind budget for this period. Please take a few minutes to review the update, and if you have any questions, please send an email to financecouncil@holytrinityns.ca or contact the Parish Office. We thank you for your generosity and your ongoing support of our parish.

Partnership Spotlight
At Holy Trinity Parish, we are fortunate to partner with various groups to serve our community and further Jesus’ mission. We will be showcasing their important work in our parish and community as we celebrate our partnership and great work accomplished. This week we will highlight the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Women’s League (CWL)

The Knights of Columbus have tirelessly supported HTP’s mission, often working behind the scenes in various ministries, including Hospitality, Digital Ministry, Liturgy, and Operations. Whether it be supporting our Steubenville Youth, serving in leadership positions in the parish, or distributing over 200 coats to kids in Sackville last year, they are always ready to lend a helping hand. Additionally, their financial support for Beacon House and organizational efforts for the Special Olympics highlight their commitment to social justice and community care.To get involved or learn more about the brotherhood and mission of the Knights of Columbus, contact Mark MacIntyre at (902) 471-0101.

The CWL Council has been an active presence in our community for over 60 years, with more than 40 members ranging in age from 18 to 96. Their commitment to supporting the most vulnerable is evident in organizing prayer vigils for Palliative Care, donating baby clothes to Birthright, assisting Metanoia youth programs and Steubenville initiatives, and serving in parish ministries like Hospitality and Care & Companionship, where members visit and bring communion to those who are homebound. Through their dedicated fundraising efforts, such as the Penny Auction, they have supported numerous organizations at national and local levels. Beneficiaries include Development and Peace, the Assembly of the People of God, Pro-Life initiatives, Beacon House, St. Vincent de Paul, and various parish programs.  To get involved or learn more about the sisterhood and mission of the Catholic Women’s League, click here or contact at stjvcwl101@gmail.com.

Advent Family Wreath Making
To help us enter the Advent Season, on Saturday, November 29th, the Knights of Columbus will be hosting a family Advent Wreath-making event in Seton Hall at St. John Vianney! The event runs from 10 am – 12 pm and light refreshments (hot dogs and hot chocolate!) will be provided. The Knights will supply the boughs for the wreaths, along with the candles to mark the weeks, but it’s recommended that families bring their own limb clippers to help make their wreath. If you’re able to make a small contribution, the Knights ask for a $10 donation per wreath to help offset costs, but the donation is not required to participate. If your family is interested in attending, please RSVP to Ernie MacIsaac (ehmisaac@ns.sympatico.caby November 24th, letting him know how many attendees from your family will be coming, and how many wreaths you’ll want to make. Hope to see you there as we prepare to celebrate the season of Advent!
