| A Message From The Pastor Dear Parish Family, I hope you had a nice May long weekend. I had a very blessed time in London at the leadership conference. As well, the Priest’s retreat in PEI was a good time away with the Lord. I come back to you, eager and joyful, as we keep taking steps towards the fuller realization of our parish’s vision and mission. A few updates are important to communicate to all of you. Firstly, Kate Pinto, one of our part-time staff, presently heading up the Evangelization part of our discipleship pathway, has some good news. She and her husband, Nick will be adopting two school-aged children, and so as of May 26, Kate will be going on twelve months of maternity leave. Let us keep her and Nick, and the two children, in our prayers as they begin this new chapter in family life. Kate’s role will not be filled by anyone in her absence, so we look forward to her return. At that point, Kate will pick up where she left off, in the development of a new program for teaching people how to evangelize in our modern society, entitled ‘Mission Possible’. Secondly, you have already heard the news regarding Fr. Yves leaving at the end of June for his new assignment in Ottawa, and soon-to-be Fr. Michael joining us as the new Associate Pastor in July. On top of that, we have a soon-to-be deacon, named Karl, who will be ministering among us at Holy Trinity Parish after his ordination on June 15, in his home diocese of London, Ontario. God willing, Karl will be ordained as a Companions of the Cross Priest next year. So, it is his desire to have some parish ministry experience with us over the summer, similar to Deacon Tim Silver last summer. Karl will be with us from roughly June 18 until late August. I know you will all appreciate him in our parish community. From September until June, we will have a Seminarian intern named George, from Saskatchewan. Please keep Karl and George in your prayers, that God will guide their vocational journey towards the priesthood. We all enjoyed having Manas with us last year, so it will be nice to have another seminarian with us this Fall. Finally, D’Arcy and Erica Murphy, whose firstborn son was baptized on Easter Sunday, will be leaving us at the end of the Summer. They are CCO missionaries and have been assigned to Ottawa. They will be greatly missed. Presently, D’Arcy is the Chair of our Parish Pastoral Council, and so the team is adjusting as we look for new membership. We will keep you posted. Please keep D’Arcy, Erica, and baby Evan in your prayers as they make this big move. There is a lot of coming and going, and we turn to God, our Rock, to keep us stable in our faith and mission at Holy Trinity. Once things are reasonably settled in September, I believe we have a great year of ministry and blessings to look forward to. I will do my best to keep you posted along the way, especially regarding events related to this Jubilee year of Hope. Sincerely in the Lord, Fr. Tim |
