| IMPORTANT FILL OUT YOUR SURVEY Parish Survey Closed April 30th, but we will still take entries for one more week if you have been putting it off Click Here: Thank you for taking the time to fill out our parish survey. Your feedback will help us shape the next 3-year plan for the parish. If you or someone you know was unable to complete the survey online, we will have paper copies for you to complete following all the masses this weekend in the foyer. A Note from the Pastor: Dear Holy Trinity Parish, Blessings during this Easter season! It is great to be singing Alleluia again. I am delighted to be in England until May 10. I am with three other Companions of the Cross priests, as well as many other visitors from around the world, to attend the Annual Alpha Leadership Conference in London. Fr. Yves will be in charge while I am away. I will remember all of you in my prayers while I am visiting different Shrines and Churches. Upon my return, I will be joy-filled to give sixteen of our parish children their first Holy Communion at the 9 am Mass on May 11. Afterwards, I will be heading away again, but only to Prince Edward Island for the Annual Priests’ retreat. I will be away from Monday, May 12, until Friday, May 16. Again, Fr. Yves will be holding down the fort in my absence. Who knows, by the time I return, we may have a new Pope. Let us continue to intercede for the Cardinals as they prepare for the Conclave (Not the movie). I will have a few more updates to share with you later in the month, but this is enough for the present. In the meantime, let us keep the participants at our Life in the Spirit program, and the children preparing for 1st Communion in our prayers. Come Holy Spirit! Sincerely in the Lord, Father Tim 9:30 am Mass Saturday, May 3rd The Catholic Women’s League of Halifax/Yarmouth Diocese will be hosting a Mass on Saturday, May 3 at 9:30 am to kick off their Annual Diocesan Convention being held at Holy Trinity Parish. Archbishop Brian Dunn will be officiating and all parishioners are welcome to attend. Name Change on Banking Transactions Working with the Archdiocese, we’ve had our bank change our account name to “Holy Trinity Parish” where previously it had still been “Holy Trinity Pastoral Unit”. This change was made to better represent who we are and provide better consistency with our parish identity. So, if you are making donations via Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) or via e-transfer, you will notice a slight change in the name that appears on your transactions in your bank statement going forward. We just wanted to assure everyone that the change was made at our request, and nothing except how the name appears should be different. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the parish office. Companions Foundation Day Mass Friday May 2nd: This year the Companions of the Cross will celebrate their 40th anniversary of their founding. There will be a Mass on Friday, May 2, at 7:00pm at Saint Benedict Parish Halifax. We invite you and encourage you to join with Fr. Tim, Fr. Yves, Fr. Dan, Fr. Isaac, Fr. Simon and Fr. Graham as we celebrate this important day in their community. 12 Hours of Prayer for Palliative Care Our parish CWL will host a 12-hour prayer vigil on Friday, May 9, in the HTP Chapel and Church to support the National Hospice and Palliative Care Week. All parishioners are invited and encouraged to participate. Prayers will begin at 8:00 am in the chapel and continue with the Rosary at 8:30 am, followed by Mass at 9:00 am and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 10:45 am. From 10:45 am until 3:00 pm, the chapel will be open for personal prayer time. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed at 3:00 pm and will be dedicated to palliative care, and at 4 o’clock, we will be saying the Stations of the Cross written with a focus on palliative care by Sr. Nuala Kenney. The chapel will remain open for personal prayer time from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. We do hope you will consider joining us. In a time when more resources (human and monetary) are dedicated to making MAID (medical assistance in dying) available to those at the end of life than towards providing hospice and palliative care, it is important for us as Christians to consider how we can be part of the solution. Prayers are an important start. If you wish to learn more about hospice and palliative care or to donate to Hospice Halifax, please check out the links below. https://hospicehalifax.ca/ways-to-give/donate/ https://hospicehalifax.ca/about/ Spaghetti Dinner Cancelled Unfortunately due to multiple factors beyond our control, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Steubenville Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser. We believe we will still be able to reach our fundraising goal through our Pledge Drive, as well as our Coffee House Fundraiser on the evening of May 31, 2025. Youth attending Steubenville will be available in the foyer after each Mass this weekend to meet parishioners and distribute donation envelopes! For more information on our fundraisers, please visit https://www.metanoiaym.ca/steubenville.
