Parish Change Makers by Fr. Tim

There are dozens of wonderful people who give of themselves with the gifts that God has granted to them, who make our community more vibrant.  I wish I could write about them all.  Maybe, in time, I will get a chance.  For our final installment, however, as we approach our appreciation event on June 20, I would like to acknowledge Michele Wilson as a change maker in our parish.

Michele and her husband Steve are busy grandparents. Michele is a hair stylist by trade with a salon in her home. She encountered Jesus in a personal way during the Alpha course at our parish in 2022. Subsequently, she developed several connections with parishioners at Holy Trinity. Michele became involved in the Alpha course as a table helper, and then as the MC. She has also been very instrumental in our efforts to build our parish hospitality ministry, and has even graciously agreed to step into the role of hospitality team lead. Michele exudes spiritual joy from her heart, and she is ever grateful for what God has done for her and her husband. Please keep Michele in your prayers as, by following her example, we will all strive to create an ever more warm and welcoming atmosphere for those who come through our doors.

Updates from Fr. Tim:

  1. Surprise! We have a nice surprise this week. Fr. Bryan is visiting the Companions of the Cross household as part of his new job. He will be with us until Sunday, June 16. Fr. Bryan will be holding down the fort for us here at Holy Trinity today and Thursday while Fr. Yves and myself will be in Kentville for the Annual General meeting for the Archdiocese. He will also be the homilist this weekend before he goes back to Ottawa. Have a blessed week, and let us keep all Fathers in our prayers as we approach Father’s Day this Sunday.
  2. The Search is Over! After a few rounds of the hiring process for our Operations and Communications positions at our parish, I am pleased to announce that we finally signed contracts with two wonderful people. Alex Stapleton will be our Communications Coordinator, and Shelley Clee will be our new Operations Coordinator. Many of you already know Alex, as he is a young adult in our parish who leads our Metanoia Youth Ministry. He will begin the Communications role on July 8th, after the Steubenville Atlantic Youth Conference is concluded. He will be a great addition to our team. Shelley will be a new face for us to get to know. She comes with administration experience from the United Church community, and will be onboarding throughout the month of July. Let us make her feel welcome as she adjusts to the ins and outs of our parish life. I am grateful that Alex and Shelley have said yes to working among us, and I thank God for bringing good and qualified people into these important positions. Please keep Alex and Shelley in your prayers as they ‘learn the ropes’, so to speak.

Holy Hour

All are invited to join an hour in prayer and adoration tonight, Wednesday June 12th at 7pm. We will be praying for the continued renewal of faith in our parish. “Could you not spend an hour with me.” Matt:11:28
