Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: January 18-25, 2025
Saturday, January 18 begins the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Each year during this particular week Christians worldwide are invited to pray together for the unity of all Christians.  The 2025 theme focuses on the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed. This is a unique opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the common faith of Christians, as expressed in the Creed formulated during this Council; a faith that remains alive and fruitful in all the world. The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2025 invites Christians to draw on this shared heritage and to enter more deeply into the faith that unites all Christians. The prayers and reflections for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity were prepared by the brothers and sisters of the monastic community of Bose in northern Italy. The Canadian Council of Churches offers these resources that include prayers, reflections, and activities that can be used by individuals and/or groups. They can be found here: weekofprayer.ca

Whether it’s information about Mass schedules, special events, or ministry highlights, the sign will keep everyone informed. We hope this new feature will enhance communication and bring our parish even closer together. Stay tuned for more details.

St. Vincent de Paul
At Holy Trinity Parish, we are fortunate to partner with groups like the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Beacon House, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Women’s League to serve our community and further Jesus’ mission. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be showcasing their important work in our parish and community as we celebrate our partnership and the great work accomplished. This week we will highlight the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The mission of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Canada is to live the Gospel by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, and joy. Vincentians see Christ in those who suffer, come together as a family, maintain personal connections with the poor, and offer assistance wherever possible. In 2024, members made over 450 home visits in Sackville, Beaver Bank, and Mount Uniacke, supporting families with resources, groceries, and help with rent, heating, power, medical needs, and water. The annual “Be An Angel” fundraiser provides essential financial support for this work. Members also offer financial and social aid to shelter residents at Holy Trinity Parish, ensuring they receive the care and support they need.To get involved or learn more about the mission and work of St. Vincent de Paul, click here or contact members at (902) 864-0777.
