What is the purpose of Growth Groups?

Our Holy Trinity Parish mission is to make and equip disciples who joyfully go and invite others to Jesus. Our hope is that Growth Groups will help us on that mission in two ways:

  • For everyone to become known, loved and cared for
  • For everyone to become mature in Christ

What does a Growth Group consist of?

  • Time of Fellowship
  • Time of Learning
  • Time of Discussion
  • Time of Prayer

Growth Groups Launch-Lent 2022

We will see Holy Trinity Parishes (HTP) first Growth Groups emerge the week of March 6th, 2022. Our time of Learning will be watching The Chosen and Discussing it together.

Why The Chosen?

No matter where you are at in your journey with Jesus Christ, this TV show is for you!

Imagine you could see the life of Jesus through the eyes of the people that walked on earth with him – the disciples, Mary his mother, the Pharisees, the children, those he healed. What would that look like? Now you can experience it! The Chosen is the first-ever-multi-season TV show about the life of Jesus. Created outside of the Hollywood system, The Chosen allows us to see Him through the eyes of those who knew him.

The Chosen stays faithful to the Gospels and, at the same time, tells us a story that is in between the lines of scripture. This TV series brings to life those people that are mentioned in the Bible, using the historical context of life at the time of Jesus. The series does not contradict scripture, but instead puts life around it so that we as viewers can imagine, “What was life like with Jesus?”

We hope that as you encounter of the characters in The Chosen each week, you will build a new curiosity about the life of Jesus and those that followed him when he walked the earth.

Our hope is that as our church encounters the characters in The Chosen, we are able to relate to the them, leading us in a closer relationship with Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
The Chosen is a fresh look at the Gospels for those who have been reading the stories for years or for those who are just curious about who Jesus is and was.

Right now HTP is looking for Growth Group leaders. These leaders will invite 8-12 people into their Growth Group. Are you called to be a Growth Group leader? If this is something Jesus is calling you to- keep reading!

A Growth Group Leader is:

  • A Follower of Jesus
  • Available
  • Willing to Learn
  • Hospitable
  • A Good Listener

A Growth Group Leader Isn’t

  • To act as a teacher/catechetical expert
  • Judgemental
  • Assuming
  • To act as a counsellor/spiritual director/therapist
  • Impatient

What if I want to be in a group and not lead one?

Right now we are just looking for leaders. We hope that one day there will be enough leaders in order for every parishioner to be in a Growth Group. Please join us in praying for an outpouring of leaders in our community!
