Dear Friends,
As our weather turns cold, I want to take a moment to share and thank you for your support of the Emergency Shelter Project. We now serve and operate 25 shelter units across Nova Scotia thanks to your generosity.
In light of the postal strike, we’re sharing this appeal with you by email to support the Emergency Shelter Project again this winter. You may also receive a letter in the mail at a later date in relation to our Made for Mission appeal that supports this project. My apologies if you receive both! We’re hoping for a swift resolution so that Canada Post can resume full operations for all Canadian charities who rely on donations at this important time of year.
Thanks to the generosity of The Windsor Foundation, every dollar you donate to this project now until December 31, 2024 will be matched 1:1, meaning that your gift will go twice as far in helping us provide shelter to vulnerable individuals.
We are working to raise $50,000 by the end of 2024 to unlock The Windsor Foundation matching grant. That means if we raise $50,000 together, they will contribute an additional $50,000, allowing us to move forward with critical aspects of the shelter project.
Here’s how your donation can make an impact:
- $25 becomes $50 and provides emergency food and hygiene supplies for shelter residents.
- $100 becomes $200 and helps us furnish safe sleeping spaces.
- $500 becomes $1,000 and supports vital services like shelter installation & repair and program coordinator support.
Every gift, no matter the size, will help us get closer to our goal.
We’re asking for your help, not only to donate but to share this campaign with your network. The more people we reach, the faster we can raise the funds needed to unlock this matching grant and provide life-changing support to those without shelter this winter.
