Dear Parish Family,
Please allow me to update you on a few things. For those who may not know, Fr. Yves’ dad, Martin Marchildon, entered palliative care, and so Fr. Yves went to be with his family earlier than planned. His Dad died, at the age of 95, on Monday morning. His funeral Mass will be in Victoire, Saskatchewan on Saturday, July 20. Then, Fr. Yves will stay on for three more weeks to be with his family. He will return on Monday, August 12. Please keep the repose of Martin’s soul in your prayers. We will also pray for Fr. Yves and his Mom and siblings as they grieve his death and celebrate his life.
I returned from Kitchener on Monday, and, if it works out, I will resume my vacation when Fr. Yves returns.
I am looking forward to us hosting some of the Companions of the Cross seminarians as we hold an “Exult” evening at our parish on Friday, July 19. Please come out if you are able. There might even be a Manas sighting. Speaking of Manas, the update is that his 30 day retreat was postponed and he is actually doing a six week internship at St. Benedict’s Parish until late August. Afterwards, he will return to Detroit to continue his studies. I am happy to be able to see him again.

You are invited to have a renewed encounter with the Lord: experience greater freedom in worshiping Him and have your faith in His power to heal strengthened through praise and worship music, a teaching on praise, and communal prayer ministry, especially for healing. VBC Canceled for Summer 2024: Unfortunately due to low registration numbers, we will be canceling our Vacation Bible Camp for this year. Our thanks to the volunteers who offered their support for the week and thanks to those who did register! We hope to be able to offer the camp in 2025 and are looking forward to the coming Faith Formation year beginning in September!
