This gospel today is really about going the extra mile. Without God we are going to have a hard time doing that. Jesus is challenging the church to participate in the unconditional generous love of God.
Our parish discipleship pathway offers us a balanced spiritual life. We have both a horizontal and vertical element of our faith, vertically, me and God, but horizontally living my faith with those in my community. Our Grow Together step on our pathway offers us a way to become more like a family, love one another into the kingdom, grow in maturity in our spiritual life, and carry one another’s burdens and offer God’s love.
